The Kraków refinery processes 21 out of 24 grades of local crude oil and produces 15 different types of petroleum products. These include automotive gasoline, aviation kerosene, diesel fuel, black oil, petroleum coke, and other refined outputs.
The facility fully meets the domestic demand for refined petroleum products in Poland, with approximately 45% of its production allocated for export to international markets.
The refinery is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including the ED-AV-6 unit (commissioned in 2017) for primary oil refining, a catalytic reforming unit (2018), a delayed coking unit (2019), and a catalytic cracking unit (2020). Key processing infrastructure also includes the ED-AV-6 electric desalter, the initial crude distillation unit, and a vacuum distillation unit for fuel oil.
These advancements position the Kraków refinery as a modern and efficient hub within Poland’s refining sector, contributing significantly to both national energy security and export revenue.

Oil Refining
Masma Europa Refinery holds the position of number one in Poland in terms of oil refining capacity and processing volumes. The company plays a critical role in supplying Poland and Europe with high-quality petroleum products that meet the most rigorous environmental and technical standards.
In recent years, Masma Europa’s refining operations have been strongly focused on aligning with European market demands, emphasizing cleaner fuels, broader product diversification, and sustainable energy practices.
Commitment to Modernization and Quality
Masma Europa Refinery has consistently implemented an ambitious modernization programme—the most extensive in Poland’s refining industry. This initiative has enabled the company to expand its product portfolio, enhance fuel quality, and strengthen its competitive edge in both domestic and European markets.
As part of this transformation, the refinery completed a full transition in 2017 to producing 100% K5 environmental class motor fuels, fully compliant with EU standards and Technical Regulations TR TS 013/2011. Since 2018, the company has produced advanced Euro-standard fuels, including AI-95-K5 Euro-6 and AI-100-K5, known for their reduced emissions and improved performance.
International Refining Operations and Partnerships
Beyond Poland, Masma Europa Refinery has expanded its presence across Europe and globally through strategic investments and operational partnerships in key refining hubs:
Germany: Masma Europa holds stakes ranging from 24% to 54% in three of Germany’s most technologically advanced and high-capacity refineries – MiRO, Bayernoil, and PCK.
Belarus: The company indirectly owns a 21% stake in JSC Mozyr Refinery, a leading facility in the region.
India: Masma Europa maintains a 49% ownership in the Vadinar Refinery, one of India’s largest and most modern refineries, with a processing capacity of 20 million tons of crude oil annually.
In 2018, total refining volumes at Masma Europa’s German assets reached 11.5 million tons, while its share of production at the Mozyr Refinery in Belarus amounted to 2.1 million tons.
Refining Performance and Sustainability
Masma Europa continues to operate with a strong emphasis on refining depth and efficiency. Across its operations, light product output has reached 58.1%, while refining depth stands at 75.1%, reflecting the company’s technological advancement and operational excellence.
Its ongoing innovation in fuel quality and environmental performance has led to a 2% year-on-year increase in the production of K5-class gasoline and diesel as of 2018.
